2026 Visa Guide

Spain Visa Types

Understand your options, check eligibility, and follow step-by-step requirements for each Spanish visa pathway.

Who needs a visa?

Not everyone needs one. If you hold an EU, EEA, or Swiss passport, you can live and work in Spain without a visa.

EU, EEA & Swiss citizens — no visa required

If you hold a passport from an EU member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland, you have the right to live and work in Spain freely. You only need to register as a resident (certificado de registro de ciudadano de la UE) after 3 months.
